Welcome to Our Lady of Perpetual Help School technology program,
BEYOND Technology Education!
Your child will have the opportunity to participate in technology class at least once per week for 45 minutes. Our goal is to guide students on how to use the technology as a tool for schoolwork, research, and lifelong learning.
Our curriculum consists of 4 units (presentation design, creative communication, analytical problem solving, and introduction to coding). We will complete at least 2 projects per unit. This year’s theme is ‘Etiquette’. Each unit will focus on a specific area of etiquette. In this unit students will develop presentations about cultural etiquette. They will define what culture is and what is looks like so that they can articulate what cultural etiquette means. They will explore other culture’s etiquette in order to understand each other better. Lastly, they will reflect on how they can make a difference by having respect for other culture’s etiquette.
Your child will be reviewing and learning new ways to design a presentation using multiple applications and web tools. Printed versions of their work will be sent home at the end of the unit with a learning objectives sheet showing the items that were covered. We look forward to an exciting experience in the computer lab this year.
