Welcome to Our Lady of Perpetual Help School technology program, BEYOND Technology Education!
Your child will have the opportunity to participate in computer class at least once per week for 30-45 minutes. Our goal is to guide students on how to use the computer as a tool for school work, research, and lifelong learning.
Our curriculum consists of 4 units (presentation design, creative communication, analytical problem solving, and introduction to video production). We will complete at least 2 projects per unit. This year’s theme is ‘Goals’. Each unit will focus on a specific area of goal setting. Specifically, this unit we are focusing on understanding SMART goals. SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely) is an acronym for helping to set successful goals. Your child will be reviewing and learning new Multimedia and brainstorming skills. They will be completing a multimedia presentation using these new techniques. Printed versions of their work will be sent home at the end of the unit with a learning objectives sheet showing the items that were covered. We look forward to an exciting experience in the computer lab this year.
