Religion is taught every day and the Catholic doctrine is woven into all areas of instruction, as well as in character education, attitudes and conflict resolution. Students attend Mass every week and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation three times a year. Students participate in prayer services on several occasions throughout the year.
Our academic curriculum follows state and archdiocesan guidelines. In addition to the core curriculum, OLPH offers computer instruction for all grade levels, an organized physical education program, school-wide art and a music instruction (including band and choir). In addition, students in grades 6-8 use Rosetta Stone for their foreign language instruction. Students in grades 1-8 participate in the Accelerated Reader program.
OLPH offers a well-stocked library staffed by a part-time librarian. We provide numerous extra-curricular sports for students in grades 4-8. Some sports may offer an opportunity for younger students to participate. Our pupils can choose to participate in student government and Academic Decathlon (must meet certain requirements).
