JOB SUMMARY: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School is seeking a dynamic Art teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Under the direction of the principal, the teacher will be in charge of planning, delivering and assessing Art lessons aligned with the California common core standards-based curriculum as well as the Archdiocese of Los Angeles standards for grades TK-8th.

Flexible Schedule: 15 hours per week, 5 days per week, 3 hours a day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrate record of success working with early childhood, primary, and secondary grade students and be a team player with colleagues, grade-level teachers, and staff. Organize once yearly Art Show.

General Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.

* Creating, engaging and supporting an effective Catholic environment where all students can and will learn, including differentiation and classroom management.

* Organize Art Show & other displays of fine art in our school.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* Current CA teaching credential and/or Bachelor’s Degree (Desired but not required)

* Criminal justice fingerprint clearance, VIRTUS (provided)

Record Keeping Responsibilities:

  • Maintains grading records and updates computer grading system at least weekly
  • Prepares report cards for distribution at the end of each grading period
  • Records daily attendance of students
  • Completes all required forms and reports as designated by administration

Meeting Responsibilities:

  • Attends all school events, such as but not limited to, Back to School Night, Open House, Gala, Graduation; as well as, all faculty, professional development, ongoing catechesis, and other meetings as established and scheduled by the principal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree with teaching credentials

Experience: Previous instructional experience preferred

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Practicing Catholic with general knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church
  • Establishes and pursues professional growth goals through coursework, research, conferences, workshops, and other development opportunities
  • Maintains CPR and first aid certification
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Displays proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized software
  • Displays proficiency in google classroom usage and applications, and in integrating technology into the curriculum
  • Establishes rapport, works independently, and maintains strict confidentiality and professional ethics

Join our team as a Summer Camp Instructor for two exciting weeks from June 17-21 and June 24-28! We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to lead a variety of classes including STEM, cooking, crafting, sports, games, and more. As an instructor, you will teach two 1.5-hour classes each day, with different groups of kids in each class. The camp runs from 8:15am to 12:15pm daily.

Position Details:

  • Dates: June 17-21 and June 24-28
  • Time: 8:15am-12:15pm
  • Responsibilities: Teaching engaging and interactive classes in various subjects
  • Compensation: $500 per week
