What Students Learn in Art Class
Grades first through eighth are assigned a specific day and time for art class. For the main art curriculum, students follow Meet the Masters and supplement with some self-created projects. This program not only provides students the opportunity to learn about great artists of the past but also allows them to create their own interpretations of the different artists’ works. In every art class, students create projects using various mediums such as pencils, watercolor paints, colored pencils, crayons, and oil and chalk pastels.
Once a year, the school hosts an art show displaying pieces from students in grades first through eighth. The art show is a wonderful occasion for parents and students to see the amazing artistic talent that exists at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School.
