The mission of the OLPH Catholic School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to bring together parents and teachers with the goal of creating an enriching, educational experience for each student while building a strong community for all who enter the doors of OLPH. We believe through this environment that teachers and administrators can do their best work and students can do their best learning.
The success of the OLPH PTO depends on our parents! Each year, the PTO sponsors fun events and celebrations, hosts fundraisers to benefit the school community, organizes community events for our families to enjoy, and supports our wonderful faculty and staff.
We are proud to have numerous volunteers at OLPH who are willing to give their time and talent to benefit our children and our school.
Annual Fundraisers
The Read-a-Thon takes place in the fall, and it is a great fundraising event that encourages kids to read and builds literacy skills while also raising money for the PTO. Students get donations for reading, and they can earn prizes for themselves, their classrooms and the whole school.
The annual PTO Gala is a fun evening for parents, friends and family of the OLPH community. The evening consists of cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a silent and live charity auction. Each school family is assessed a PTO fee. This fee gets each family two nontransferable tickets to the event. The Gala takes place at various venues in the Santa Clarita Valley and has a different theme each year. Invitations are sent to school families, but the entire parish community is invited to participate.
During the auction portion of the evening, there is always a wide variety of items to bid on — trips, dinner parties, home-decor items, gift baskets, collectibles, children’s birthday parties and much more. This event is a great way to share your spirit, fellowship and love for the OLPH Catholic School community.
OLPH hosts the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Students can buy books, posters, school supplies and other items. Stop by to browse the selection.
Yearlong Fundraisers
If you or your family members shop at Ralphs or Kroger and have a rewards card, you can register it and choose OLPH Catholic School as your community partner, and the school will get a percentage back of all your purchases.
Step 1: Log on to ralphs.com.
Step 2: Sign in or create an account, then go to account summary.
Step 3: Register your Ralphs Rewards Card number.
Step 4: Go to Community Rewards.
Step 5: Choose your organization. (OLPH organization number is IW631.)
Approximately once a month, the PTO sponsors a restaurant night at a local eatery. Each restaurant gives a percentage of the sales back to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School. Watch for flyers to be sent home because some restaurants require them in order for the school to receive credit. While raising money for OLPH, these outings also offer families an excuse to get together outside the school setting and enjoy each other’s company.
